Nestled in a leafy green, private courtyard behind the main building at 295 Rokeby Road, Subiaco you will find Wisdom Wellness. As you arrive you will be personally greeted by Justine Spencer, as she meets with all clients herself, and offered a warm herbal tea or water as you take a comfy seat in the counselling space. The room is an inviting and light filled space with interiors that feel like home, tucked away from the busyness of life. I believe that there are always lessons from our experiences if we allow ourselves to be open to them. For me, the isolation period that COVID-19 presented had many, many lessons. Initially, I felt anxious when my structured routine (which included my own self-care) disappeared - literally overnight - and I worried that my business wouldn’t survive the uncertainty of the days, weeks and months to come. Then the lessons showed up… I learned that remaining present is key because the future can’t be known, there is freedom in surrendering and so much to be gained from slowing down (which I intend to hold on to).

There are many practical steps we can take to self-care, especially at the moment amidst the #covid_19. One simple step is to up our wholefood nutrition flooding our body and cells with living, phytonutrient vitality. ⠀

So when you head to the local supermarket next time be mindful to head to the outside isles first filling your shopping bag with fresh fruits and veggies. ⠀

My boys and I have a smoothie with breakfast every morning loaded with goodness from our shop. It’s the easiest and quickest way to begin the day packed with nutrition (and the little ones in your life won’t know just how much goodness is hidden inside). ⠀

At a challenging time amid the Coronavirus when emotions such as anxiety, fear and stress may be high it’s so important to be mindful that we never know what another person is experiencing themselves or what their private experience (feelings) might be.
